We hear many good things about our teachers and their classes. The puppets as always feature highly and have become celebrities in their own right.
Alexandra enjoys singing ‘Koo-Koo, Where are You?’ with the glove puppet. She was given a glove puppet for Christmas, which she immediately christened Koo-Koo and often sits by herself singing the song and hiding the puppet behind her back.
Amberly uses her toy wooden hammer to tap the beat to ‘tick-tock’. She sings ‘tick-tock’ using all the names of her friends, herself, mummy and daddy.
Molly rarely joined in at music class when we first came, she was 18 months - 2yr. However, all the way to school in the car to pick up her brother and sisters, we would sing ‘I went to visit the farm one day….’ and she would shout out more and more animals, vehicles and make the noises.
... we also attend various other toddler groups and (as a retired College Lecturer) I appreciate the planning which goes into our Presma sessions, which is not evident elsewhere.
I love the way the children are taught to listen and then sing along with gusto. To wait their turn and then share not only Janet’s time but also the instruments she brings along (a large recorder, a huge drum, an extra large rainmaker, a trumpet). All this whilst enjoying music together.
The classes are good fun and varied every half term. I also have twins who are two and they still sit in the buggy during music, which is amazing! At home when we sing songs from music they sing and do the actions so obviously during the time at music, although they don't seem to be doing anything, they are taking it all in.
When she started she was incredibly cautious and was reluctant to accept instruments. Now she confidently chooses her own instrument when it is her turn and every week tells me what she is going to play and who she is going to see before we get there. She has learnt to happily share instruments at music, which in turn has taught her to share her toys with other children at home.
