Music has always been a wonderful part of my life, I learnt piano and clarinet from an early age and also the saxophone. Having an inspirational music teacher at school gave me the opportunity to sing in choirs and play in orchestras, wind bands and even a big band! Now I am heavily involved with big band music and run the Pavilion Band in Norwich. I also play for dramatic productions in Norfolk and as a soloist with local orchestras.
Music gives me tremendous pleasure, particularly when playing with other people. It is the ultimate stress relief too!
My tastes range from classical through to hip-hop (although I won’t be using the latter in my groups, don't worry!). I have a special love of soul music, and my PRESMA friend, Marvin Monkey, is named after the greatest soul singer of them all!
I first came to Hayley's PRESMA classes in Norwich when my first child was a tiny baby. Both of my children loved the variety of songs, instruments, puppets and other stimuli used in the groups. I have been lucky enough to enjoy music throughout my life and it is a very dear wish that my children do the same.
I decided to become a PRESMA teacher when my children were both at school, as I love working with music and small children, so what could be better than PRESMA? I strongly believe that PRESMA gives children an opportunity to have music in their lives from the earliest age. To me, music can give a child so much; a sense of achievement, listening skills, the confidence to speak, sing and vocalise, and most importantly - fun!
